Here we crossed the Nakuru National Park. Via Nyahururu and Naivasha we reached Nanyuki at the foot of Mount Kenya. We crossed the equator several times and enjoyed fantastic views of the landscape, which changed dramatically at different altitudes.Our tour guide John Gachanja was our encyclopedia, our cultural mediator, our life guide in the chaotic Kenyan traffic. It is simply an institution that you should not miss as a Kenyan holidaymaker with a wide range of interests. He knows the country and its people like the back of his hand, as well as the habits and customs of the various ethnic groups, which is definitely an advantage when traveling through the country. John knows every good spot, even away from the tourist hotspots, and organizes nice accommodations that Europeans and Americans will find very pleasant. John from Ultimate Adventures then prepared a great trip for us, considering our wishes and bringing in his expertise. We had a great driver, who was both responsible and knowledgeable, the van was also in good condition. We stayed every day at a different lodge, which allowed us to see much more then just staying at one place. The quality of the lodges was also great, especially the Maneaters lodge next to Tsavo.
